It's only when one has a go at this oil painting lark that one realises what geniuses my heroes Ozzie Kokoschka, Vinnie Van Gogh, John Eveleigh et al (Al who?) were/are. And having recently seen me ol' mate Farquhar's stuff, I'm tempted to give up right this minute. Nightmare.

I want the top left hand one and the bottom one on it's own!
Frank, they are very very good you know
Oh and welcome back at last xx-

You're too kind modom. Maybe in about three or four years' time I may just get the hang of it. Gonna be a tough old slog though.

For a self confessed Blethering eejit you can sure use a paint brush!!
I like the Top Left. reminds me of my favourite childhood film Ring of Bright Water When Mij the Otter played in the ditches.

Cor, ta... you smooth talking charmer you. And yes. we do have very impressive ditches round here. Mij would love 'em. Trouble is, most of the fences are electrified - as both Jock and Sprocket have recently discovered.

I don't think you need to hide our light under a bushel, Frank. I never got very far at all with oils, just ending up with a Plasticine-brown mess as I didn't know when to stop fiddling. Do you paint en plein air or back in your studio?
With all that lush countryside, I imagine you get through green at quite a rate! The top left one is my favourite.-

Studio? Wot studio?! Been sploshing away outdoors. Getting chillier now though. Yup, running out of greens. And enthusiasm. Top left was the most recent effort - shows slight evidence that I'm just beginning to get the hang of this oily painty stuff. Messy old business. Glad you like it.

Very impressive. I particularly like the bottom right - something about the viewpoint reminds me of being a child. Do you like green or is it just that there's lots of it where you live?

Many thanks. Yes, I like green. Just as well as there's lots of it around these parts. Or was. Turning a bit brownish now.

Ah, you're back!
eBay finally came good?
I know bugger all about art, but I can easily identify most with the top left picture. Excellent and a typical scene from all that typical scene from our back garden to all over la Creuse!
I was in France at chez nous at exactly the same time as you were in the UK. You missed some lovely warm days.-

Er..., despite appearances, eBay has not yet finally come good. Despite paying for afforementioned Apple laptop thingy over five weeks ago, the damned thing still hasn't arrived. Seller's excuse is that she's all over le magasin because her mum has recently died. Hmm... However, she's promised that the item will eventually arrive. Mind you, she promised to send it about three weeks ago. And Friday before last. Hasn't answered my recent emails or phone calls. Maybe she really has been knocked out by this unfortunate event and hasn't got herself organised yet. Or maybe I've been taken for a ride. Hah! Anyway..., have recently been using the geriatric old G3 Apple computer which just about manages to handle emails but lacks the power to access this blog. Hence reason for recent silence. Have now dug the old PC out of its dusty corner and it appears to be working - much slower than before though. Still, better than nowt.
Ta for looking at me pics. I know bugger all about art too. Glad the weather was good for your visit. Very sunny today.

Many thanks for your much appreciated flattery. Most encouraging. Will get out again soon to splosh more paint around... just as soon as it stops raining, slushing and snowing. Weather's awful.

I like the three on the left, but not the two on the right. The ones I like all have interesting lines and shapes. Top left is my favourite as the road and stream lead the eye into the picture and the trees and their shadows add interest.
